With the recent announcement of the resumption of The League of Ireland from July 31st, it’s now a better time than ever to pull together and help a club in need. Finn Harps FC are aiming to raise €30,000 in the next month through a crowdfunding campaign organized by the club. The funds will see new portable dressing rooms installed in Finn Park to meet requirements for social distancing restrictions.
The Donegal club are now almost two-thirds of the way to this goal. Supporters from not only Finn Harps, but numerous clubs in the league have donated what they can. A special mention was made for Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk supporters! The support from clubs around the country has been quite remarkable and really highlights the special comradery to be seen amongst the League of Ireland community, something you seldom witness with leagues overseas.
Finn Harps Football Club are well known for their own generosity. The club have often helped other clubs in the league in times of need. Anyone who knows the league will be aware of this fantastic community club and the amazing volunteers who go out of their way to help keep Donegal’s senior club afloat.
As an added incentive, all donors of any amount will be entered into a draw for a 2020 club jersey signed by the current squad, and a pair of tickets for the next Republic of Ireland home match at which spectators are allowed. In addition, any donations of €50 or more will have the donor entered into the club’s 500 club draw for the corresponding period and have a chance to win a weekly prize fund of €500.
Whether you’re a League of Ireland fan, a fan of Irish football, or even just a lover of sport in general, you’re sure to understand what this means to everyone within the club. With just over €10,000 left to raise, every single donation, no matter how big or small will help this amazing club reach its eventual goal. Let’s bring football home to Finn Park!
